“Newsies,” “Phantom of the Opera” on Austin’s 2016-2017 Broadway season

Disney’s crowd-pleasing musical “Newsies” and the ever popular “The Phantom of the Opera” are two of the nationally touring musicals coming to Austin in 2016-2017, Broadway in Austin  announced today.

Also on the line-up is “Something Rotten,” about imaginary Shakespeare wannabes Nick and Nigel Bottom and their quest to write a hit play that will best the Bard.

“Cinderella,” “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” and the never-without-an-audience “Mamma Mia” are also on the roster as is “The Illusionists,” a magic show with seven illusionists.
