Encore performance for “Music for Enchanted Rock”

Justin Sherburn’s musical homage to Enchanted Rock rocked last weekend.

So much so that after a capacity crowd turned out for the Austin composer’s piece for strings, piano, pedal-steel and live laptop effects, Sherburn is rallying for an encore performance of “Monolith: Music for Enchanted Rock” this Saturday at the North Door.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10.

A presentation of Leon Alesi’s artful photographs of Enchanted Rock accompany the performance of “Monolith,” an ambient modern classical piece that includes interviews with visitors about their experiences at the almost other worldly geological feature just west of Austin.
