You have until Sunday to catch the sprawling, whirring, genre-blurring exhibit that catalogs the breath-taking output of DEVO frontman and co-founder Mark Mothersbaugh.
“Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia” closes April 17 after a well-attended run at the Contemporary Austin’s Jones Center, 700 Congress Ave. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The exhibit’s title refers to Mothersbaugh’s severe vision defect, myopia that wasn’t properly diagnosed until he was 7.
“I never saw birds flying or the tops of trees or clouds,” he told me in an February interview. “I never even saw the sun properly. After I got glasses I just immediately started drawing pictures.”
